Thank you, Vicky. I am so very happy to be settling back in. My next "task" is to catch up on all of the writings and inspiration you and others have shared. I'm setting aside tomorrow morning's cup of coffee in bed for just that! I hope you have been well. xo
The light in the photos is divine, lovely! I need to admit that I have so little capacity to read these days so I’m super grateful for being invited into your world through images until I can fully dive back into all the beautiful words on here ✨🌾 sending love
You know, I truly intentionally create, curate, and take photos with each of my letters in mind. This one has a blend of some of my old favorites and some new ones from this week. And I am so glad that you were able to soak in the August mood from them. I absolutely understand not being able to read all that is written, so I create my posts and letters with photos in order to not only break up the writing, but also to tell the story or create the mood visually. It means everything to me that someone could only look at my images and still feel the message that I want to share. Love to you, dear Carmen. xx
Such a gorgeous letter, Liz, I love the podcast too! I’ll be looking forward to this every month. Thank you for giving me a new light to see August. It always feels like such a liminal space. I’m glad to see it as a thoughtful chance to regroup and to be intentional about how I want to head into autumn—my favorite time of the year.
I am not surprised that we both love autumn - I feel such a kinship with you when I read your Substack. xx Thanks so much for being here and I'm so excited that you're excited about my monthly posts/podcasts. xoxo
Welcome back Liz! This was total magic from start to finish, you captured the essence of August so beautifully…it’s longing and it’s fading. And yes to this month as a path toward homecoming and the magic of autumn. Thank you for sharing your beautiful seasonal wisdom xxxx
Gaaah, Lyndsay. Thank you so much for saying that. I feel that you always understand me and the message/mood that I am trying to send. And, then, you always reframe it and summarize it in the most beautiful way that is your own, which inspires me right back. What a blessing to share wisdom with each other! xx
Such a beautiful piece of writing. It felt sensual, full of love, indulgence with a hint of change in the air. My August is very much akin to the farmers in the field, I have a month of hard work on a project before I release in September and October. Love to you at this gorgeous time xxx
Liz, this was amazing to read! and I'm really enjoying the playlist you made. The photos capture the richness perfectly. I am so happy to have found you here. Thank you for sharing your insights.
Hi Amanda! I’m so glad that you found your way here and I’m super grateful for your sweet words. I look forward to connecting with you more as the seasons unfold. xx
That was so beautiful. I live in the desert and it’s still very hot. Yet the air holds an unmistakable autumnal feel. Excited for better weather, but also to embrace the mysteries of the dark season.
Oh, Suzanne, the mysteries of the dark season. They are magical, aren’t they? I am sure that it’s still sweltering in the desert right now, but somehow in our bones we know that changes are coming, don’t we? Thank you for sharing your thoughts! xx
This is one of my favourite things I’ve read in quite some time. You’ve articulated my thoughts and feelings about the joy of August so perfectly. 🌻
I’m enjoying the last bits of summer like spending my lunch breaks and my reading time outside in the warm air (in between some crazy stormy weather in Ireland) and relishing the lack of plans that can lead to aimless afternoons of adventuring and usually ending with a nice cold drink. But equally feeling more ready to embrace my favourite season (autumn) when she arrives!
Oh Rachel, I’m so glad you enjoyed this. Wow. That makes me so very happy!
Isn’t August just this most special time when you can really feel the changing of the seasons? Everything is all over the place, spontaneity rules, summer lingers on, but the shift to autumnal days is palpable. It truly is a magical time. 🌻
Such a beautiful sun-filled post. Welcome back! 🌞

It really is, it feels like a gift. And yes I absolutely always feel deeply into your evocative words xx
I'll watch the meteor showers on our camping trip
I wish you a beautiful evening of stargazing and a wonderful camping trip! What a great time to be out in nature. x
